Exultate Singers returns to the medieval church of St James Priory to perform an exquisite programme of Christmas music, the perfect preparation for the festive season. This year’s concerts will be shorter than in previous years, with no interval, and with reduced audience capacity. There will be three performances of the 75 minute concert, two on Saturday 11 December, at 4pm and 7pm, and the third on Wednesday 15 December at 7.30pm.
Exultate Singers has appeared on Classic FM, on BBC Radios 2, 3 and 4 and BBC television including The One Show and Songs of Praise. The choir is known for its engaging performances, making use of the building’s spatial effects with singers placed in different positions around the hall throughout the concert, enveloping the audience with stunning live surround sound.
“To come in to the glorious building of St James & the ethereal sounds of Exultate – my companion said she thought she’d gone to heaven and I quite agreed! I don’t know how you manage to maintain such a terrific standard of music with such a lovely friendly atmosphere, but please keep doing it!”
Audience capacity is reduced with some seats not available for sale to allow distancing. The wearing of face coverings is not mandatory, but is strongly encouraged. Other Covid safeguards will be dependent on guidelines and best practice at the time of the concert. Doors will open 30 minutes before the start time of the concert.
There is step-free access via the central doors into St James Priory, and any chair can be removed to provide a wheelchair space. The seating plan that shows which seats are chairs is available here (see key top right hand corner).
